Robert M. Schwan, D.M.D.
Dr. Schwan obtained his undergraduate degree at Lafayette College as a Dean’s List Biology Major, and is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Schwan was able to graduate 1st in his class at U. Penn for all clinical courses and was also elected to the academic honor society known as Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
Dr. Schwan was selected by the U.S. Navy to receive training in Oral Surgery, Prosthodontics (reconstruction of the entire dentition) and General Anesthesia at the Naval Hospital in Philadelphia. In 1972, after three years in the Navy, Dr. Schwan returned to West Chester in order to start his dental practice.
Dr. Schwan’s practice has evolved into a full-service general and cosmetic dental center. His office complex is shared with a separate dental practice and an independent dental lab, which does high quality crown and bridgework for Dr. Schwan and other dentists in the area.
Dr. Schwan continues to utilize his exceptional artistic ability with the latest updates in dental materials and equipment.

Our Staff
Dr Schwan's friendly and dedicated staff are here to provide comfortable and informative care to you and your family. Our office personnel will gladly assist you with scheduling appointments, billing, insurance, and related questions. We have a talented team of dental assistants who provide thorough, comfortable exams and treatments. Our skilled hygienists will take care of routine cleanings and other oral health services.
Staff Introductions
Jennifer DeAntoniis is our office manager and has been with us since 1998. She came from Holidaysburg, PA to attend WCU and graduated in 1992. Jennifer may be your first contact on the phone or when you come into our new totally renovated office. Fortunately for you and us, Jennifer is very good at calming your concerns, making an appointment, explaining financial options and helping you walk thru the nightmare of insurance with the least hassle possible.
Debbie DeAngelis has been a dental assistant with us since 2003 with several prior years of experience in an oral surgery practice. Her people friendly skills were first honed with USAir. Her broad experience and training in the dental care environment has allowed for every patient to have a predictably pleasant visit.
Stephanie O'Flaherty is our assistant office manager and dental assistant and has been with us since 2000. As an experienced restaurant manager, Stephanie is able to tackle all the challenges in our modern dental practice with the utmost skill and enthusiasm. Most importantly, the needs of you the patient always come first.
Lisa Schnell, RDH has brought 25 years of skill, knowledge and judgement to our office and has consistently exceeded patient's expectations with her gentle care. She had been known to make a Cheetah purr, so we know she's got the right touch. Lisa is originally from western New York and graduated from Montgomery County Community College Dental Hygiene in 1993. Lisa is an avid Buffalo Bills fan and can make a mean, hot, authentic batch of chicken wings.

Payment Options
- We currently participate with Delta Dental, Guardian PPO, and MetLife PDP.
- Our office accepts most open insurance plans. We will accurately and promptly file all insurance claims. Most contracted, closed panel, HMO and discount plans require profit motivated compromises in treatment options which we cannot subscribe to.
- Payment is due at the time of service. This can be coordinated with insurance deductibles, copays and assignment of benefits.
- A financing plan is available for those who may require extensive restorative care through an independent agency that will enable you to make monthly payments with no interest since the finance charge is paid by Dr. Schwan as a courtesy incentive for you.
- A 6% Senior Discount can be applied for any major restorative care.
- A 6% Discount can be applied to fees prepaid in full at least 48 hours prior to your appointment for any major restorative care. Discounts cannot be combined.
